My Snake Stuck Somewhere In Dashboard!

ok, me and a friend went jogging and i brought my pet ball python along its about 2ft. As we go back in the car i put the snake back into a shoe box where my friend is suppose to be watching over as i drive home. On the way we notice that the snake slid out trhough the little box opening into my glove compartment hole, my friend tries to yank it out but it was too hard. I get home tear open the whole compartment and still cant find it. Im worried that it might crawl into a vent, dash, steering wheel, etc... I'm REALLY worried. Anybody knwo what I can do to take it out? and reptile people here who can help me? I'mma pray that it comes out tonight. I had the snake for about a week now and noe I have all this trouble

If you can dont run the car, that will make parts of it heat up and draw the snake there. Take apart what you can but put some kind of heat pad were you can watch make sure to check the heat pad at night, their nocturnal.
sorry i cant be to much help :P good luck getting him out.

Please do not leave windows rolled up because

you will cook your snake with the internal temps of sitting vehicles in excess of 120 degrees. You got a REAL problem here bud and i guess one doesn't have to tell you hind-site is 20/20. Right ? How big is this snake / Are you sure the snake can't get out like through the vent or something ? How about trying a feeder ( LIVE ) animal in a cage of some kind and the snake just might pick up on the air born scent of the feeder animal therefore coming out to feed. The scent of the prey item is pretty strong when it comes to a snake you know. I would be prepared to check the vehicle ( if you go this way ) every 20 minutes throughout the day or night for the first 24 hours. This method has worked for a lot of people including me when a small boa got into a wall one time.

Ok went down to the auto shop today. Took $300 to remove the entire front because the snake kept moving around. The steering wheel came off, air bags, the whole front stripped off. We saw the snake slide half of its body out and we couldve had a chance to yack it out but the mechanics were too scared to try grabbing it. So for about 5 hours we kept blowing smoke, air whatever to try to get the snake out. With no success I see the snake in a small corner, the mechanics told to grab it which I did by the neck and I pulled as hard as I could. I thought I ripped the snake in half when it came out but it was fine. It didnt even try biting me. The snake is shocked so I have it back in its cage. I think I broke a couple of its ribs. I really wanted that snake out of there even if it meant killing the snake which I dont want too but I'd have to for other peoples safety. Thank you lord.

Leave it alone in its cage for about 2 weeks, make sure fresh water is available, but otherwise leave it be. Feed it after that point. Leaving it alone will allow it to calm down a bit from a stressful situation.

After that grace period I would take it out for 20 minutes or so a day. Be careful taking it out and once it is out, don't allow it to sneak into any enclosed areas (in your shirt, a pocket, etc...) because it would probably strike at you if you reach in.

Over time it may calm down a little bit but you will probably have to continuously be careful when first reaching in. Never reach for it while its "hidden".

The same thing just happened to me....

could you hear the snake moving around? i have tried putting out heat lamps, warm water, a mouse, even tried cooling the car and heating it up, but i see no sign of it... i wonder if it got out of the car through some bottom vent. is there any advice you can offer? i have taken most of the dash out, but the auto shops around here are on strike
