My little pit jani escaped! Either that or my sister did something with him! I came home from wotk to handle him! And he was nowhere to be found within his cage! I personally think someone in my family did something with him since they all despise him for how large he will get when he is an adult! Although just to be safe, please give me tips to trap him! The worst case scenario is that her escaped through a heating vent on my floor a couple feet from the enclosure... my dog ate him, or wild mice came back and killed him! (i had mice a few months ago, what if they came back?)
First off, try to get an honest answer from your family.
Put your dogs away. Lay out a heat mat with a pre-killed rodent on top of it. Look in tight, dark places. Basically, look where you'd never expect it to get into, because that is probably where it is. Snakes are amazing escape artists. They can get into and out of most things.
So... Uhh... Yeah... I was kind of... Mid-cleanning his cage when I found him, thought it would be nice to come home to a nice clean enclosure! To find out he never left... Should I stick with aspen, or can I move to sand? Only problems I ever hear between substrates are impaction... Which... He has a separate feeding container...
